Version 4+ users: consider using the preferred Client Side (JavaScript) usage for best compatibility.

Version 3 and lower:

If you do have runat='server' in your MVC forms, then you can use the controls as per regular ASP.NET. If however you do not have runat='server' then you will need to add the HTML/Javascript to your page manually.
