Indexed Sources List

The Indexed Sources screen displays a list of imported sources and allows new sources to be added, re-imported, removed and the source parameters to be changed.

Importing a new source

'Import New Source' is used to discover and index links from different sources, such as a Website, Database or using the file system . Please see the Import section of the Help documentation for details.

  1. Click 'Import New Source'
    To setup source parameters such as Path Matches to be Ignored, select 'More Options' before importing.
  2. Choose 'Type of Source' you wish to import - 'Website' for example.
  3. Click 'Import' to begin crawling and indexing new documents.

Re-import a source

Used to discover and index new links and re-index documents that have changed. Please see the Document Reindexing Logic section of the documentation for further details.

  1. Click 'Re-import Source' or right click an existing source and select.
  2. Click 'Import' to re-crawl and index documents.

Add new documents to 'Unassigned Documents'

'Unassigned Documents' contains all documents that have been manually added to the index. These may be documents that are not linked within your website or documents of special interest that need to be searchable.

  1. Click 'Add New Document' or right click on 'Unassigned Documents' and select.
  2. Enter the document URL to index.
  3. Click 'Add to Index'.

Document List View

The document list view section of the Indexed Sources page displays a summary of the indexed documents including; URI, Page Title, Description, Custom Data as well as the Security Groups, Location & Content category names assigned to the documents. All documents within specific sources can be viewed by clicking on the relevant source in the Indexed Sources section.

Filter

Use the filter box to view only those documents that match a specific string. The filtered results will include matches within the URI and the indexed document text.

More information

Further details about a document such as the Last Modified Date and its indexed text can be seen by right clicking a row and selecting 'More Information'.

Deleting documents from the index

To remove specific documents from the index;

  1. Select the source that contains the document from the Indexed Sources List.
  2. From the Document List View select the row(s) for each document to be removed.
  3. Right click over the selection and click 'Remove document(s) from the index'.

To remove an imported source (all documents within a source and the source parameters);

  1. Select the source from the Indexed Sources List.
  2. Select 'Delete Source' from menu or right click and select from the context menu.
