The Index Manager : Publish

The publish form provides a convenient way of copying the index directory over the file-system to another folder or by uploading it to a remote folder via FTP. A scheduled task can also be created to periodically update the index locally and then republish it.

Publish settings

• The file-system
  Enter the path to the target folder or click Browse to locate it.
• FTP
  Enter your FTP server details, a remote folder that exists on the server and FTP login credentials.

Select Publish Now to copy the index directory contents to the new location. It will minimize search interruption by toggling the search to the new index only when the content has been copied across.

Automatically Update and Republish Index

A scheduled task can be created to periodically update the index locally and then republish it using the publish settings outlined above.

Additionally, an email log containing the results of the republish can be sent once the operation is complete. Enable the Send Email Log check box and complete your email server Smtp credentials. Please note that emails may go to your spam folder - add the 'from email' as a trusted sender in the email client.

To begin setting up the new task click Create Task and specify when the task should run and frequency of repetition;

• Start Date
  The date on which the scheduled task should first run.
• Start Time
  The time of day that the scheduled task should first run.
• Days
  The number of days to wait between runs (use 0 only if Hours > 0). To run without repetition use -1 days.
• Hours
  The number of hours to wait between runs (use 0 only if Days > 0).
