I would like to be able to display the page's dynamically generated meta description tag as the search result items summary. Can this be done and if so how?

The reason is that we plan to have only a small hidden section of the page index-able with our keywords in it so the users can not see them and we have full control over how each page is indexed. However we what to still show a dynamic and unique summary in the result items instead of just the section of keywords where the subject text was found it.

Hi Brian,
You can set the Result Summary Type under the Configuration to StaticMetaDescription so that the description meta tag is shown instead.

Changing the Result Summary Type would require reindexing. You can find more about the Configuration in the Help documentation here;
