Is CustomData included in a document's index data and thus searchable? Or is it simply attached to the document and available for retrieval and use with a search result item?

It's not indexed, and not searchable. You're using PreloadedDocument so I know you can append the custom data to the indexed text easily enough. Other users should ask us as there should be ways to add text to be indexed, but it depends on the specific situation. Thanks Jim -your feedback is helpful to other users, thank you!

Thanks, Jim! That's what I thought but wanted to confirm. I am already appending the searchable parts of the custom data to the document text. Someone else thought that was unnecessary as they thought the custom data was indexed and searchable, so wanted to confirm that that's not the case.
